Intrepid Studios’ Ashes of Creation team is looking for a highly motivated and talented GameplayEngineer to join us, here in beautiful southern California. This role will report to the Lead Engineer and support our engineering team by creating, debugging and maintaining game systems within Unreal Engine 5!This is a great opportunity to unleash your creativity and partner with talented game veterans to craft a unique MMORPG that helps bring people together!Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers to create, debug, and maintain game systems using Unreal Engine 5
Work alongside the otherengineers to assure performance at large scales
Create and document complex systems in a clear manner, including technical design documents and code reference documentation

Requirements:

A minimum of 3+ years of working on multiplayer games, using Unreal Engine
Strong knowledge of the Unreal actor model, including replication and the actor lifecycle
Strong C++ knowledge
Experience profiling and optimizing applications for bandwidth and CPU usage
Experience with version control such as Perforce
A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset that works well with other developers
Ability to articulate (both in written and verbal methods) complex processes in a clear manner
Ability to work cross-discipline with design, art, and production teammates
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related equivalent experience

Additional Considerations (Pluses):

Demonstrated ability and willingness to guide and mentor engineers in their efforts
Strong knowledge of highly distributed multi-server systems
Experience with AAA game development
A Passion for making and playing MMO games
Familiarity with Ashes of Creation
A portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for detail and the ability to create maintainable, high-quality code

The Legal Bits:We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $98,000 - $137,200, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
