Pets + People is a trusted and respected manufacturer of pet & household consumer goods for leading brands such as Burt’s Bees, Arm & Hammer, Clorox and Glad, along with top entertainment properties Disney, Star Wars, Harry Potter & many more. We are looking for a talented & dynamic Toy & Product Designer to join an experienced team working on consumer product, toys, industrial design, packaging, retail displays, trade shows & more. The Toy Designer will work on a variety of tasks & brands, reporting into the Product Design Manager. Please note, this job is not appropriate for a web, app, game, or UX designer. Responsibilities

• Work on hard and soft goods: toys, apparel, accessories, molded items, paper goods, retail displays, & packaging

• Manage daily design tasks keeping track of deadlines & delivering clean files ready for production

• Work with product managers to make sure tasks have correct information

• Make sure all designs meet internal, as well, as licensing partners brand guideline standards

• Ensure all production files are accurate & complete

• Work with Manager & Creative Director on market-place research & trend presentations

• Understand new brand needs & work cross-functionally on concepting new lines & product offerings

Who you are...

• Established designer with previous toy experienced (2+ years)

• Highly collaborative, willing to openly share knowledge & ideas but also incorporate input from others

• In-depth understanding on brand guidelines usage

• Strong typography/composition skills for packaging

• Attention to detail & highly creative in generating new ideas - on trend

• Eager to work in fast-paced environment

• Multi-tasker able to pivot according to workflow & deadlines

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience designing toys required

• Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office software skills on Mac required

• Some experience with Fusion 360, Blender, Solidworks, Rhino or some equivalent 3D rendering software.

• Ability to sketch ideas and concepts.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in design

• Understanding of file setup for toy production

• Must have experience with product design, plastic/soft good toys, & packaging

• Experience with paper goods is a plus

• General understanding of manufacturing process for both hard & soft goods

• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment attending work in office 3 days a week (2 days remote)
