Position Summary
Full-Time Position Start Date: August 1, 2025
This position is for the academic year and includes a full-time teaching load of five classes per semester. The class load could include a combination of Painting, Drawing, and Photography. This position reports to the Visual and Performing Arts Department Chair and the Principal.
Duties/Responsibilities

- Create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment that fosters creativity, artistic exploration, and skill development for all students.
- Design and deliver lesson plans focused on painting, drawing, and photography techniques that align with the school's mission of intellectual, spiritual, and artistic growth.
- Encourage students to explore their artistic talents and challenge themselves to grow as visual artists.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Visual and Performing Arts Department and across other academic areas to provide interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Actively engage parents in communication about student progress and creative development.
- Support the religious life and extracurricular activities of the students, including participation in gallery shows, art fairs, and other school events related to the arts.
- Serve as a personal example of those attributes to which we call our students: open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to promoting justice.
Required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Indiana Teaching License or eligibility for licensure in Art Education.
- Sensitivity to and appreciation for diversity, with demonstrated ability to relate to individuals with compassion and creativity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and guide students in their artistic journeys.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in a high school setting, particularly in a Catholic or Jesuit institution.
- Familiarity with Jesuit educational values and a commitment to fostering students' growth in all areas, including their spiritual and artistic development.
- Experience in showcasing student work through exhibitions, galleries, or school events.
