Owlchemy Labs is seeking a highly skilled and creative Contract Marketing Artist to work with our dynamic marketing team. The Contract Marketing Artist will play a key role in creating visually compelling assets that support a wide range of marketing initiatives, from social media campaigns to website design, store pages, and event promotions. This position requires a versatile artist with strong graphic design expertise, a deep understanding of branding, and a passion for producing high-quality visual content that engages audiences and elevates our brand.
This is a twelve (12) month contract estimated to commence in late February/early March 2025.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality digital assets across various channels including but not limited to social media, website, store pages, blogs, event promotions and digital advertisements.
- Manage key assets for our digital store fronts across platforms including asset creation and implementation on store pages to support various game updates and launches.
- Work closely with our social media team to provide required content for social campaigns, social banners and trending content.
- Support our video content, including YouTube and Streaming, with updated assets including lower-thirds, stream overlays, and thumbnails.
- Contribute to the development of our website by providing the required assets. Having a basic understanding of SEO principles and how to design assets that are optimized for web performance. Working with external vendors on asset needs and providing design feedback.
- Partner with the Sr. Lead, Marketing & Communications to ensure all partner asset requests are fulfilled including key art requests, logos, original content and promotional materials.
- Support our sales and paid media campaigns by creating digital advertisements for various platforms.
- Ensure all digital assets are optimized for performance across multiple platforms and devices (e.g., file size, resolution, format)
- Maintain consistent branding and visual style across all materials, ensuring the company’s voice and identity are clearly reflected in every asset created.
- Balance multiple design projects with competing deadlines, maintaining a high standard of quality and meeting deadlines.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with knowledge of web and mobile design principles.
- Familiarity with video editing tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus.
- Must have a great understanding and use of composition and color theory, and have adequate knowledge of graphic/visual/stylistic trends in games.
- Must have excellent communication, time management, relationship building, conflict management, and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Should be able to multi-task and to adapt easily to change.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Photoshop (or any equivalent 2D software)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years working in interactive media
- Experience working in small teams
- Experience with Unity or a similar game engine
- Experience with motion graphics or animation is a plus!
- Experience with After Effects (or any equivalent motion graphics software)
- Appreciation of puns (or at least the ability to groan at them)
Physical Requirements:
Contractors must be able to use virtual reality headsets but are not expected to own one.
