Title: Associate Designer
Reports to: Senior Designer
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience at an Assistant or Associate level
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong sketching ability
- Must be located in NYC or willing to relocate
- Experience designing licensed apparel a plus (ex. Disney, Nickelodeon etc)
- Experience designing kids apparel a plus
Job Description:
- Work with the Senior Designer to create kids licensed apparel. Apparel categories include graphic tees, as well as key item fashion pieces such as dresses, cosplay hoodies, and sets.
- Work collaboratively with the graphic artists and provide them with direction as needed.
- Submit all designs to licensing to ensure everything is licensor approved before we start production
- Lead handoff meetings with Product Development and Production
- Create tech packs for sampling and production
- Approve lab dips, strikeoffs, fabric qualities and samples
- Collaborate with costing to ensure we're creating cost effective designs
- Participate in fittings with the Tech Team
- Create style numbers and finalize callouts on cads
- Shop the market for the latest and greatest ideas and freshness
