Your Crew
You will be part of a voxel destruction co-development project working with external stakeholders. Together with the Fishlabs team, you will be in the center of it all, working closely with programmers, designers, and other art disciplines to make this project a great success.
Your Mission
- Coordinate with the art director, designers and other art disciplines to create voxel based full featured environments.
- Understand and follow the artistic direction for the project.
- Work with the Voxel Artists to outline the needs for the environment to aid in the design and planning.
- Work with the design team to create prototype levels with preliminary art, design and gameplay intentions.
- Integrate new and existing assets into the level. Create and assemble the key elements of the environment keeping lighting and art direction in mind.
- Keep in mind technical constraints, guidelines and metrics when constructing environments.
- Oversee optimization and debugging to fix issues raised by QA testers.
- Communicate effectively with the project management and fellow team members
- Push overall artistic capability within the studio
Your Skillset
- A relevant portfolio of artwork showing examples of layout and dressing work (Ideally some examples of voxel-based work, but not essential).
- Strong understanding of composition, lighting and working with level design.
- Great understanding of
- Experience with real-time engines
- Great technical knowledge of 3D packages, texturing packages and game engines like Unreal/Unity.
- Experience in voxel software such as VoxTool or equivalent software a plus (MagicaVoxel, VoxEdit, Oubicle, etc.)
- Ability to work within an established art style.
- A good team player, willing to work collaboratively and receive feedback and guidance from the rest of the team
- Minimum 1.5+ years of experience as a level artist, or a shipped title
- Good understanding of development lifecycles
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills required
