ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented and motivated Character Artist based in Australia to play a key role in creating characters for our upcoming title. The ideal candidate should showcase outstanding attention to detail, a strong creative aptitude, and enjoy working within a stylized art style. A self-driven and collaborative mindset is essential to champion the artistic vision while collaborating with both creative and technical stakeholders to deliver remarkable characters that captivate players. Collaborate with the art team and multiple other disciplines in order to help meet the needs of animation and design while balancing the artistic vision. This is a 6 month fixed term position.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create high-quality stylized 3D characters.
- Create and modify character assets to support the rapid prototyping of experimental features.
- Collaborate with the animation team to ensure seamless integration of character assets.
- Ensure character art adheres to technical requirements and meets memory and performance guidelines.
- Work with the development team to correctly implement and showcase character assets in game.
- Ensure that all aspects of character art production are completed on a timely basis to a high standard.
- Be eager to learn and grow under the guidance of the art team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional character art skills and a strong sense of aesthetics. Stylized art heavily favoured.
- Ability to translate concept art into appealing 3D characters.
- A solid understanding of topology and how it relates to character deformation and optimization.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools and software like maya, painter, photoshop etc.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or comparable game engines.
- Effective time and workload management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to deliver high-quality results.
