Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and talented Principal Character Artist to join our team. You will lead the charge in creating characters for EVE Vanguard, a MMO FPS set in the same universe of EVE Online.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate superb artistic ability and technical understanding of real-time character modelling and texturing within a game development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Art Director, Lead Concept Artist to develop characters that supports the project’s artistic vision and storytelling.
- Develop and maintain the character modelling pipeline to support efficient and high-standard production.
- Iterate based on feedback and adapt designs to meet project needs and style.
- Help to mentor other character artists to ensure consistency is kept throughout the game.
- Ensure that character assets are optimised for performance and work within technical constraints
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Principal Character Artist in the video game industry.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of Character designs.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently translate 2d concept art into 3d models.
- Deep knowledge of human anatomy, form and colour theory.
- Proficiency in industry-standard softwares.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
Desirable:
- Unreal engine 4 or 5 experience.
- Experience working on cosmetic pipelines for live service games.
