This is an on-site role in Redmond.
Pay Range: $35/hr - $38/hr
Our client is looking for a passionate of all things FPS that can build exciting and creative campaign experiences and guide others to do so. Responsibilities include , laying out 3D assets/spaces, and gameplay scripting. This person will work directly with system and level designers to ensure both gameplay and level design goals are met. They will also work with artists, programmers, and producers to ensure content is built at the highest quality within a scheduled milestone. This is an amazing opportunity to work closely with a passionate team of game developers and help create exciting experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop paper map designs
- Build portions of campaign levels from inception through production under the guidance of the Lead Designer.
- Build 3D gameplay spaces and interactive objects.
- Script gameplay moments such as combat encounters, narrative events, and logic puzzles.
- Review deliverables and provide design feedback to external development teams.
- Work closely with the art team to ensure level metrics and budgets are met; as well as ensuring our visual targets.
- Work closely with engineers to develop and maintain level building functionality.
- Play test and iterate on level content to ensure highest quality.
- Highly motivated and contributes to a positive working environment.
Qualifications:
- Have worked on a first person/third person shooter title
- Experience and appreciation for sci-fi IP
- Deep understanding of gameplay and level design theories and practices
- Proficient in using a 3D modelling package such as Maya
- Proficient in using game editing software such as Unreal or proprietary engines.
- Experience in using a text based scripting language (C#, LUA, UnityScript, etc.)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A love for narrative based games and shooters in general
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills to support external development success.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35/hr - $38/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
