We’re looking for a Sr. Game Artist to bring playful, high-quality art to life for our content. You’ll help shape our visual style, mentor other junior artists, and ensure our graphics are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with our educational goals. A key responsibility of this role is to mentor a team of ~five junior artists, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day work and professional development. What you’ll do
- Onboard junior team members and mentor them on daily basis, helping them understand and adopt the visual style effectively and support them in their professional development.
- Produce high-quality, recognizable artwork aligned with our brand identity.
- Ensure the visual quality and continuous improvement of all graphic assets.
- Understand and anticipate usability needs for interactive products designed for children, applying this knowledge to visual design.
- Adapt effectively to the established visual style, including color palette, shapes, and character expressions/poses.
- Collaborate closely with fellow artists and production teams to ensure smooth workflows and prevent bottlenecks or downtime.
- Promote inclusivity and educational awareness through visual storytelling, reflecting diversity and social consciousness in all designs.
- Maintain organized asset libraries, folders, and character documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Foster clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams to uphold usability, gameplay, and educational standards.
- Ensure alignment of all artwork with the visual guidelines defined by the Creative Director.
- Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support the growth and development of team members.
- Act as a reference point for the proper use of characters and visual assets across the company.
- Support other teams by offering guidance on visual asset usage and participating in activities such as user testing or QA reviews.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of experience as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer or 2D Artist in the creative or gaming industry, ideally working on children-focused products or interactive content.
- 2+ years in a senior or mentoring position, with experience guiding or supervising junior artists
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent industry-standard tools).
- Proven track record of creating high-quality, stylised, and recognisable character designs and graphics.
- Strong style adaptability: ability to follow and maintain a consistent visual style in line with existing art direction.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering polished, production-ready artwork.
- Strong empathy and communication skills: able to collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and education teams.
- Comfortable giving and receiving structured feedback, conducting performance reviews, and mentoring team members.
- Natural problem-solver with a positive and proactive mindset.
- Organised and self-managed, able to juggle multiple projects while supporting the broader team.
