Title: Game Designer - Contract to Hire

Wolf Games is building the next generation of narrative games. Wolf’s first mobile game, Public Eye, is a daily crime solving game with cases ripped from the headlines. Players receive access to police files from a homicide case, including photos, documents, and interviews, and race to be the first to solve the crime.
The company’s AI-powered platform, Casemaker, streamlines production of the stories and audio, video, and photo assets that are the building blocks of these games, enabling our game designers to build their ideas in record time with limitless depth and customization.
Job Description:
As a Game Designer at Wolf Games you will develop gameplay patterns and mechanics that engage players in new ways, defining the next generation of interactive entertainment.
Your work will support creative direction for game titles to ensure all creative elements are cohesive across gameplay, UI/UX, asset creation, marketing, and other verticals.
You will work closely and report to the CTO to build the creative vision for titles and across teams to ensure that all are aligned with that vision. Within the company, you will be a tastemaker and instrumental in building high quality games that push the boundaries of storytelling.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key contributor to the design of our mobile games, with an emphasis on play patterns, mechanics, game loops, and U/X toward “finding the fun.”
- Guide content creation, from conceptualization to production, ensuring consistency with our game’s visual identity and quality standards.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure a unified and effective approach to game design and promotional strategies.
- Be a hands-on builder and ship frequent prototypes and updates to our Unity app
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in mobile gaming, digital marketing, and AI technologies to continuously innovate and improve our offerings.
- Help us meet the market by running playtests, gathering information through surveys and telemetry and being a source of information and strategic leadership for the internal team
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a game designer or similar leadership role in the gaming, entertainment, or related creative sectors.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UI/UX design, game design, storytelling and creativity.
- Fluent in Unity, Twine, Figma, and typical game prototyping tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, self starter, and a self described creative technologist.
- Deep understanding of branding, marketing, and narrative storytelling in a digital context.
- Experience and genuine passion to work with AI technologies and their application in creative content production is mission critical.
- Ability to work in a dynamic start-up environment, make decisions without all the information, break out of skeuomorphic thinking, throw things away that you have worked on to find the better path, trust your teammates, and communicate the wins and losses fearlessly.

Compensation
The base pay for this role is $50-70 per hour, DOE, with a planned 40 hours per week. We highly value transparency and offering competitive pay, based on current market research and employee experience level.
