We are looking for a phenomenal teammate to join our Texture team. We are a passionate team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of creativity in digital artistry. As the Lead Texture Artist, you will be instrumental in crafting the textures, and intricate surface details that bring our CG creatures and hard-surface models to life in our production.

What You'll Do
Work unaccompanied and with production team (VFX Supervisor, Texture Supervisor) at an advanced level to implement the desired look of complicated CG models, including complex creatures and/or hard surface models, including ships, real world vehicles and environments
Create complicated textures, colours, and organic surface qualities needed in the completion of CG creatures and hard-surface models used in production
Set up asset pipeline following Supervisor's specifications; in absence of Texture Supervisor, assume governing role over Texture team and ensures accurate Texture pipeline set-up
Participate as a team member in identifying various design solutions; provide feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis
Provide texture feedback and oversight for Third Party Partners
Work by one's self, with input from Art Directors, Modelers, and Look-Development TD's, to achieve desired look of photo-real models
Mentor junior and mid-level artists
Maintain or exceed consistent level of productivity while meeting scheduled targets and producing high quality work
What We're Looking For
Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent education and experience
5+ years of proven experience
Demo reel and portfolio illustrating knowledge and experience in painting, illustration or design
Familiarity with film production and computer graphics
Attention to detail with good organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information
Proficient in Mari (preferred), Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, or Bodypaint. Ability to navigate complex Computer Graphics pipelines
Ability to collaborate closely with various parts of the Computer Graphics pipeline and manage schedules
Modeling skills are a plus
The hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$122,400 to C$156,800 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits, may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
