Refactor Games is an indie game development studio in Santa Monica. We make experimental, emergent video games using new technologies like Virtual Reality, Cryptocurrency and Artificial Intelligence.
We are looking for a student or recent graduate to participate in our Summer 2024 internship program which begins on July 8th and ends on October 25th. This is an onsite internship in Santa Monica.
We’re looking for a game developer who is passionate about sports, fantasy and space video games as well as technologies like VR, AR and blockchain gaming. This person is excited to learn from industry veterans and help us develop cutting edge video games and interactive experiences.
You must choose one of the following tracks:
- 0 Game Engineering
- 1. Full-Stack Engineering
- 2. Game Design & Writing
- 3. Audio / Sound Design
- 4. UI/UX Design
- 5. 3D Art
- 6. 3D Animation
- 7. Game Production & Operations
- 8. Business Development
- 9. Marketing & Social Media
- 10. Quality Assurance & Testing
Responsibilities:
- Implement functionality and features (engineering, audio, art) and/or manage project support initiatives accordingly (production, marketing, design).
- Contribute innovative and original ideas on all aspects of game production and development.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the latest tools or technology in your field (project dependent).
- Minimum 1 year professional or academic experience with at least one video game project in portfolio.
- Is currently or was recently working toward a bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
- Strong passion for video game development.
Compensation:
- College credit is provided if possible / applicable
- After the internship you will be considered for a full-time position at Refactor Games if you’ve graduated.
- You will be able to use your work in your public portfolio.
