The Director, Strategic Gaming Partnerships & Soundtracks at Masterworks will work and collaborate with the LA-based Soundtrack Division of Sony Masterworks, Milan Records. The focus will be the support and development of our gaming lane involving the artistic support to our up coming gaming live activations, the development of new relationships with established and new studios, the acquisitions of soundtrack rights, and a forward thinking approach to new opportunities in the gaming world.
We are an entertainment company with a recorded music and a live division. Your position will allow you to put in action your knowledge and expertise to support both divisions in their expansion in the gaming lane.
What you'll do:
• Analyze areas of opportunity and formulate strategy for the gaming space that align with near-and long-term strategic priorities.
• Partner with internal label departments (marketing, commerce, business affairs, production, press) to help execute best strategies.
• Present to stakeholders across the company to educate and align them around strategic goals.
• Leverage your relationships and expertise with gaming/developer/marketing partners to build opportunities.
• Effectively manage relationships with top-level partners.
• Negotiate and acquire the rights to exploit various video game IP in in the areas of live entertainment, recorded music, and physical merchandise.
• Regularly attend gaming industry conventions.
• Assist executing digital marketing campaigns including deriving total marketing spend based on expected revenue projections.
• Continually research and stay aware of current trends across immersive worlds, digital/virtual goods, emerging technology (AI, etc.), community management endeavors, new business, third-party developer partnerships, etc.
• Develop pitch decks for new and existing partners.
Who you are:
• You must love and play video games. You must have deep knowledge of the video game industry, follow the trends and be familiar with both AAA and Independent games.
• You have at least 4 years of relevant experience at an agency, label, media or marketing company or culturally similar environment with a proven track record in graphic design and visual presentation.
• You are creative, detail-obsessed and a collaborative self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multitask, focus and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• You are extremely comfortable working autonomously and with a team, depending on the project’s needs.
• You are energetic, curious, adaptable, solution-oriented and accepting of abrupt change and unforeseen challenges.
• You excel at written/in-person/virtual communication as well as possess exceptional time management skills.
• You love film, TV and their respective soundtracks and have an interest in all types of music.
