Your role as a Graphic Designer:
You will design and create both digital and print work, including social media content, logos, digital banners, signage etc., using collaboration skills in order to create strong visual content to represent the San Diego Padres as an elite organization.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Responsible for graphic creation, including but not limited to print, digital, and web creative, marketing collateral, client proposals, and pitches
- Collaborate with the creative design group on creation of ballpark and outdoor signage, publications, packaging, merchandise, logos, infographics, and web banners
- Work closely with the marketing team, photographers, website designers, and marketing specialists to meet departmental and Padres organization goals
- Collaborate with other designers on creative concepts for digital social platforms
- Support the video production staff by assisting in design layout of the ballpark’s LED displays, using graphical layout (Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign)
- Utilize graphic design skills to ensure work is on-brand, bringing a fresh and energetic approach to each new project
- Represent the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Fundamental knowledge of page-layout, typography, and design principles
- Proven experience designing PowerPoint presentations, infographics, web banners, and sponsorship elements
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., with a main emphasis on PowerPoint, and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
You will be required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Graphic Design, Video Production, or similar discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years previous graphic design work experience in a similar role. Work within a professional design department, in-house a plus
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $66,560 to $70,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
