We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Artist to light beautiful scenes and environments throughout Destiny 2! As the team focuses on key expansions of the game, you'll be working directly with both SkyBox Labs and Bungie teammates in order to deliver on these magical moments.
This is a perfect position for someone who has a true passion for lighting, has deep experience with in-game video game lighting art, and who gets excited thinking about the legacy that is Destiny 2.
A snapshot of your role:
- Light areas of the game with intentional purpose, ensuring lighting meets art, story, and gameplay objectives
- Leverage your artistic abilities and technical skills to make lighting decisions to the best of your ability
- Contribute your skills and experience to the collective success of the pre-established team and lighting pipeline
- Handle optimization challenges to ensure proper performance
- Be a supportive and collaborative team player, working with other departments as needed
Sound like you? This is what we're looking for:
- A minimum of 5+ years professional real-time lighting experience in video games
- Experience with baked lighting while working on proprietary game engines
- Experience working on AA or AAA video games
- An excellent eye for light, shadow, colour, and art
- Comprehensive knowledge of lighting performance, optimization, and memory budget management
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work and skills in lighting
- Honed communication and problem solving skills - comfortable working in a team

The base salary range is $97,000 - $133,000. The stated pay scale reflects the range that SkyBox Labs reasonably expects to pay for this position. Your base salary will be determined by various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, skills, and experience.
Please note, only those who submit a portfolio of applicable lighting assets will be considered for the role.
