We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to add to the growing Madison, WI PlayStation community. We apply modern web technologies and methodologies to build an outstanding commerce platform and a customer experience filled with delight. The ideal candidate will come from an object-oriented development background, and be passionate about front end web technologies. Yes! There is a Sony office in Madison, WI! We are located in the heart of downtown right on the Capitol Square with an outstanding view of the east side and many great restaurants and social opportunities right outside the door. We have a very flexible work-from-home policy as well: live close enough to the office for occasional in-person meetings and events, otherwise, work in the office as much or as little as you like!
What You'll Be Doing
• Write automation scripts for features with key characteristics of stability and maintainability which prevents regressions in the product code.
• Build a scalable test framework for functional, integration and regression.
• Build API test framework for Microservices. Including Mocking external services and Databases and any dependencies
• Work in an agile and highly collaborative environment with our globally distributed engineering teams, architecture, product, program, and operations.
• Evaluate gaps in Testing and drive solutions to write high quality automation to increase Test coverage.
• Knowledge of build automation infrastructure to create CI Pipelines, enable automation runs.
• Eye for detail to test the Web Applications from the End user perspective.
• Participate in Hackathons and Café Days to improve your skills and increase innovation at PlayStation.
What We're Looking For
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years professional experience at scale
• 2+ years of experience in UI, API and E2E testing. Test case design and automation for web applications.
• 1+ years of experience with one or more testing frameworks including Junit, REST Assured, TestNG, Selenium, Webdriver.io, Playwright
• Experience in coding in any of the languages Java, JavaScript, Python or C#
• Experience with build automation and continuous integration tools; Jenkins, etc.
• Experience with Behavior-Driven Development; Cucumber or Gherkin is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and a sense of ownership.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Methodical and detailed problem-solving approach
• Complete ownership of end-to-end solutions and leading all aspects of their life cycle
• Execution oriented and results driven!
• Customer and peer relationship focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to partner across teams to inspire change.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to learn new skills/technologies quickly and independently.
Nice to have...
• Knowledge of testing commerce and payment solutions is a plus.
• Mobile applications testing is a plus.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
