The Next Great Associate Quality Designer Needs:
College Football is looking for you to fill an Associate Quality Designer (AQD) role for the Quality Verification team. Associate Quality Designers (AQD) at EA are deeply embedded in development and will test, document, and analyze the game during production. The AQD role is a versatile role with many areas of focus and responsibilities, who acts as a catalyst, understands the game design, and ensures its features are tested in the correct way so the quality of the game lives up to our players' expectations. This position will require you to provide oversight of our quality processes and establish best practices for our QV family together with our leadership team. In addition, you will need an in-depth understanding of the technical structure of games, how to apply new testing methodologies and be able to speak to what tools will be the most effective. Above all, an Associate Quality Designer must demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry, including the different platforms, game styles, and genres to ensure the team is focused on providing the strongest end-to-end coverage and experience for EA's players, and to help us support its commitment to putting Players First. Has an In depth understanding and passion for American Football.
Responsibilities:
• You will build working relationships with members of the development, production, and design teams to help us promote a higher quality player experience through tasks such as feature planning, analyzing internal data/player data, and feature/design reviews.
• You will be a mentoring resource for local and remote QV teams, to help us resolve complex problems and grow their capabilities as testers.
• Propose and bring solutions to problems from senior leadership.
• End-to-end review of quality strategy, and test plans, as well as test cases.
• Support identification of technical solutions and automation opportunities.
• Understand current process and workflow – drive improvements and knowledge sharing across the sports QV teams.
• Report progress and status through verbal or written communication with appropriate managers and other team members.
• Consider the game from a player's perspective to identify ways to improve the player experience
• Good English Language skills (written and verbal) are necessary to effectively communicate testing progress and status through verbal or written communication with appropriate managers and other team members.
• Use a Player First approach while thinking about the Quality our players receive. Be the voice of quality.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Quality Assurance
• Experience with testing and defect tracking software, preferably Jira
• Experience with Agile/Scrum software development
• Experience writing test documentation including test cases, test plans, etc.
• Knowledge of software development methodology and stages (milestones/sprints, Alpha, Beta)
• Knowledge of gaming consoles and their systems
• Knowledge of testing/planning tools
• Knowledgeable on white/gray/black box testing practices
• Strong knowledge of American Football, preferably College Football and/or strong knowledge of the game College Football 25
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with collaboration tools, preferably Confluence, Miro, Slack, etc.
• Experience working with off site teams
• A desire to use innovative testing means such as automation and data, to improve testing
