We are a critically acclaimed Swedish video game studio with about 190 experienced and skilled developers. We are most well-known for the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
We have grown quite a bit over the last few years, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. We want to build the best first person co-op games together, in an approachable, fun and passion-driven way.
The role
As a Concept Artist at Fatshark you will be a part of our talented team of developers producing content for Darktide. In your role as a concept artist, you will support our production pipeline of 3D artists, both for in-house and outsourcing colleagues.
Your main focus will be to fill our game worlds with detailed, interesting and production-friendly concepts for our character, prop and weapon artists. Furthermore, you will research and sync the work with our licensing partner and find references needed to carry out your daily tasks. You will also be a member of the talented concept art craft team, sharing ideas and knowledge within the team. Last but not least, this is a great opportunity to dive into a world of rich and intriguing lore!
Since we are working from our offices (with 1 optional day of working from home per week), we expect you to be based in Stockholm or willing to relocate here (we offer a relocation package in that case).

What you'll do
- Create production concept art to support 3D artists, both in-house and outsourced
- Produce high quality character, prop, and weapon art concepts to a production-friendly level
- Demonstrate expertise in conveying form and shape in 2D
- Research and find references needed to carry out the daily tasks
- Collaborate closely with our art director and 3D artists, fostering effective communication and iteration
Required qualifications
- Previous work experience as Concept Artist, in a professional work environment
- Excellent knowledge of perspective and the ability to describe form and shape in 2D media
- Proficiency in tools like Photoshop or equivalent
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to communicate effectively cross-disciplinary
- High proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Bonus qualifications
- Game development production experience
- Previous experience working with a large IP
- Interest in Warhammer
- Technical and detail oriented interest & knowledge (a drive to create believable characters and objects)
