Job Title: Technical Gameplay Designer Department: Design Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt Work Location: Bellevue, Montreal, or Vancouver Summary: Final Strike Games is looking for a talented Technical Gameplay Designer to help create amazing gameplay and engaging AAA user experiences. The ideal candidate is skillful across several Design areas, can rapidly create mockups and iterate on ideas, is a good communicator, and can help lead other team members to a finished high-quality product. This role will apply critical thinking and imagination to help make the game as fun and rewarding as it can be. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting high expectations and hitting milestone deliverables. Leadership, communication, and collaboration will be the keys to success in this role, as well as a passion for making truly memorable games. Responsibilities: Execute across all stages of development: from verbal ideas to paper sketches to feature documentation and in-game implementation Rapidly iterate on playable design prototypes Work closely with engineering partners to maintain design goals while creating performant game features Work with cross-disciplinary teams to scope work for sprints and milestones Implement assets in-engine with UE5 and manage files through source control Work with the stakeholders to understand project goals, priorities, and vision Drive project goals, priorities, and vision across interdisciplinary teams to deliver high features from start to finish Write & maintain design documentation and processes for owned features & work Establish & maintain day-to-day workflows and processes for owned feature teams Frequently manage JIRA items for owned features & work Help to establish, drive, & maintain metrics and standards to ensure consistent high-quality results Participate in playtests to collect feedback and create action items for owned feature teams Identify and fix Design bugs Collaborate with the Production team to maintain schedule and priorities of the design teams deliverables and bug fixes Requirements: 3 years of game design experience Designed, developed, and shipped 1 titles on PC or Console Proficient in the Adobe Suite and other relevant tools Unreal Engine 4/5 knowledge and experience Experience developing core mechanics for a variety of game experiences Excellent communicator who can take feedback and direction well and is willing to learn and teach others The ability to sell, present, and talk through your design thinking, game mechanics and overall design goals to all levels of management Able to develop and champion a strong design vision for a game system from concept to completion Strong ability to quickly analyze and adapt designs to continuously improve them Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and development methodologies Deep knowledge of the current "state of the art" for gameplay systems designs About Final Strike Games: Final Strike Games is a multiplayer focused game studio founded by industry veterans.
