A 3D Artist on this Marketing Creative team is a technically proficient and creatively inspired 3D generalist, able to create and render outstanding scenes for a wide range of marketing executions - primarily for paid advertising (user acquisition) and iOS/Google Play app store assets.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contribute to an efficient pipeline of 3D content for use in UA advertising and app store assets, social/community, and LiveOps marketing executions
- Collaborate with Art leads, Art Directors, Motion Graphic Designers, and Graphic Designers to produce effective 3D-rendered content for advertising and marketing purposes
- Gather insights on the overall production pipeline to plan effectively for diverse projects and requirements
- Spontaneous in rigging/animating characters and creatures to meet the expected output standards
- Develop quick production solutions for various projects to minimize production time
- Apply a planned approach to retopology, enabling the reuse of existing game rigs and animations
- Execute set dressing and environment setup using existing game assets
- Identify opportunities for production efficiencies and pipeline improvements, and advocate for enhancements as needed.
- Analyze existing animation keyframes and make adjustments to achieve the desired results
- Maintain a flexible 3D production pipeline that allows for feedback and timely deliveries, minimizing production loss
- Curate and integrate new technologies to strengthen the production pipeline in line with industry advancements
- Quicky learn the team’s production workflow and adapt to it smoothly
Skills and Experience Required
- 5-7 years of experience as a 3D Artist/Generalist, preferably in the mobile games industry
- Expert proficiency with Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, and other industry-standard 3D software
- Expertise in retopologizing game assets into high-poly models with updated textures, rigging, and animation
- Strong rigging skills for 3D models (binary/quadruple/expressions/inorganic) to achieve the desired output
- Solid understanding of core animation principles
- Proficient in key-based 3D animation (binary/quadruple/inorganic/camera)
- Ability to replicate and expand upon game animation as needed
- Strong understanding of lighting principals and various 3D lighting techniques (HDR/diffused/character/environment)
- Skilled in adapting different visual styles for games and recreating them in 3D renders
- Well-organized approach to identify optimal solutions and complete projects within tight deadlines
- Familiarity with Unreal and Unity workflows is a plus
- A decent understanding of Z-Brush and Red-Shift is a plus
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Self-motivated with effective time-management abilities
- Passionate about 3D art and animation, video games, and marketing/commercial art
