We are looking for a Character Animation Intern to join us for our Obsidian University Internship Program. Come help us make our next world-class roleplaying game!
Work with our team to develop the animations for our next big game. Spend the summer assisting the animation team bringing life to both human and non-humanoid characters. Work side-by-side with our world-class developers, learn what it takes to create fantastic worlds, and contribute to the next great Obsidian Entertainment title.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating high-quality player character combat animations, human ambient animation, and creature animations
- Debug in-engine animation issues
- Assist in the validation and optimization of assets
Requirements
- Familiarity with the role-playing games genre, especially recent AAA role-playing game products
- Ability to iterate quickly and often to improve quality and hit technical or design goals
- Proficient in Maya or 3ds Max
- Strong communication skills
Pluses
- Understanding of Unreal Engine
- Understanding of Animation Principles
- Experience working with motion capture, facial animation capture, and performance capture
Portfolio Requirements
- An online animation reel demonstrating quality in-game 3D animation, and examples of animated characters that appear to be alive
- A shot breakdown document detailing your work contribution
