What does an Environment Director do?
As an Environment Director, you will report to Frostbite's Technical Art Leadership. As a part of the Frostbite Technical Art team, you will help make our development process more creator-centric by serving as a link between engineers and game creators.
What we are looking for
You are an environment director experienced in content creation, asset building in DCC tools and game engines. You are passionate about content workflows, pipelines, and improving the creator experience within game engines. Your expertise in navigating the challenges of content creation and game engines will help us push the boundaries of the latest tools and workflows released by Frostbite to game teams. You enjoy working across multiple feature domains to build the best creator experience.
You will
• Build a positive working relationship with Product and Engineering teams, and users of Frostbite – including its tools – on partner game teams.
• Analyze the current system and contribute constructive feedback to Product and Engineering on improvements from content creator perspective.
• Design and help implement content workflows around different domain systems
• Collaborate with multiple Product Domains to take ownership and lead the improvement of Worlds and Environment creation workflows
You will need
• At least 5+ years of game/film production experience. You have completed more than 2 AAA games/movies.
• Extensive experience of developing Worlds and Environment content.
• Experience with a diversity of content creation tools within a game engine.
• Strong interest in improving content creation workflows in game engine.
• Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D DCC tools (such as Photoshop and Maya).
• A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems and to resolve challenges and limitations facing content creators
• Effective at communicating with different audiences.
• Experience in content creation using Procedural tools and workflows
