Our ECOSEC team provides a safer experience for Epic's users. We work across multiple products and services to improve technology and craft transparent policies so our players and users can have positive experiences on our platforms.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Senior Online/Software Engineer to develop and improve our services and products that protect our services, products, and games. Your efforts will be critical to the success of Epic and the many creators who depend on it. This is an opportunity to help create a safe environment for millions of players and make a positive impact on the entire Epic mobile ecosystem. The ideal candidate would have prior experience developing backend security services around communications. Specifically, we're interested in candidates with experience with text/voice chat and an awareness of how architectural decisions impact user safety and privacy. By nature a self-starter, our ideal candidate is solutions-focused & outcome-oriented. They work across teams building relationships & gaining alignment towards a set of common goals.
In this role, you will
• Directly contribute code and be a code owner for multiple services and codebases, including Fortnite
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and architect solutions to solve security-focused challenges at scale
• Follow best practices and proactively seek out opportunities to improve Epic's products and services
• Conduct code reviews and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
What we're looking for
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience building scalable, high-performance systems with a focus on security & user privacy
• Expert knowledge of C++ and Go
• Having experience with Unreal Engine is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
