This is a hybrid role in Seattle.
Pay Range: $40/hr - $48/hr
The Narrative Cinematic Artist is responsible for understanding the moment-to-moment story, frame sequences within a defined ruleset, then with clear perspective and consideration make scenes illicit an emotional response. They will foster, evangelize, and further a storytelling language that seeks to immerse through uninterrupted context, conflict, and action. The Narrative Cinematic Artist will be able to clearly communicate the goals, the way we want the audience to feel, and the power in any scene through space, line, shape, tone, color, movement and rhythm. They will also work closely with the Cinematic Director, Senior Franchise Story Lead, and Art Directors.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 2+ years’ experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment OR equivalent experience
- Cinematic Reel demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the language of film and a proven understanding of quality camera and editorial work, with per-asset labeling of contribution or role.
- 4+ years’ experience using Unreal Engine OR equivalent software packages
- 4+ years’ experience in film, games, and/or animation as an artist or designer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent creative work, comprehensive knowledge of visual storytelling techniques, and demonstrable ability to clearly express and direct cinematic vision.
- Demonstrated experience directing performance, motion and/or live action capture or talent.
- Proven success in working effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver results on time and at quality.
- Experience shipping 2+ professional projects or products end to end.
- Positive attitude to work collaboratively with partners and team members and deal with the challenges of the creative process.
- Interest and affinity for the franchise and IP
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40/hr - $48/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
