As a Senior Compositor, you will integrate all layers and elements to produce final and complete shots for feature film or episodic shows. Your expertise in compositing, color science, and traditional 2D image manipulation processes will ensure high-quality deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with other Compositors and the Compositing Lead/Supervisor to establish looks and/or follow set style direction
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of light, shadow, color, and shape to solve design and other visual challenges for key shots
• Receive and implement feedback swiftly and effectively while maintaining production guidelines
• Ensure shots are delivered to the highest standard and on schedule through effective teamwork and superior problem-solving skills
• Share knowledge, techniques, and mentor fellow compositors to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
• Understand and be adept at troubleshooting complex compositing scripts and escalating issues as needed
• Utilize and share core knowledge of 2D image manipulation processes such as tracking, color correction, depth of field, retiming, warping, and photographic optical effects to achieve photorealistic composites
Qualifications
• 4 years live-action feature film or episodic compositing experience
• Expert Nuke Skills and knowledge of compositing workflows
• General understanding of 3D computer graphics, including modeling, lighting, and animation
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Ability to take direction positively and communicate effectively
• Traditional art, photography, and film background (preferred)
• Python, Blinkscript, or C++ experience (preferred)
• Nuke particle experience (preferred)
• 360 VR or Array Compositing experience (preferred)
$100,000 - $130,000 a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience.
