What We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a Senior Tester to join the Unreal Engine's Platform QA team. You'll be working first hand with the Unreal Engine by supporting its features across multiple desktop platforms, including Apple and Linux, as well as the runtime platforms that the product is capable of developing for. You should be willing and excited to constantly take on challenges yourself as well as through team collaboration, while consistently learning in order to further your growth in this quickly evolving, hands-on development space.
In this role, you will
• Execute test cases with attention to detail to help ensure the quality of several products
• Write clear and concise steps to reproduce issues in a bug report
• Communicate issues and escalate if needed by understanding the larger goals of the product
• Provide reporting on blocking issues, testing results, and quality status to members of QA and other members of the development team as needed
• Apply familiarity with features to uncover issues and inefficiencies
• Support engineering efforts to optimize the end user experience
What we're looking for
• Technical software or troubleshooting skills (degree in Computer Science or equivalent, self-taught, or relevant experience)
• 18+ months of testing similar products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to the software development life cycle and how testing applies
• Experience encountering issues/bugs in software, and communicating those issues in a clear and concise way
• Experience logging defects in bug tracking systems such as Jira
• Passion for using Apple and/or Linux Operating Systems, along with experience of XCode and or VSCode
• Previously worked with SDKs (Mobile, Consoles, Desktops)
• Familiarity or prior use of Game Engines such as Unreal, Unity, etc
• Any degree of scripting or knowledge of programming skills such as Python or C++
