Your role
As an Art Advisory Specialist in Family Office Solutions (FOS), you partner with Private Wealth Advisors to proactively engage Family Office and Ultra High Net Worth clients and prospects with net worth of $50M and above. As part of the Art Advisory team, you will work directly with Private Wealth Advisors, clients and prospects to implement a program that offers art collection advice and select art services. This role will have an emphasis on art advice relating to estates, collection dispersal, auctions, and generational transitions. This role will not involve advice on tax/legal matters, art lending/funding, and/or artist sourcing/promotion.
In an effort to provide more seamless access for our wealthiest clients to our most differentiated products and capabilities, UBS recently announced the creation of a new “Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Plus” client segment and the launch of an enhanced cross-divisional client service offering. In close coordination with the client's Financial Advisor, this client segment will be serviced by dedicated groups of subject matter experts across Wealth Management, the Investment Bank and Asset Management. The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Support the implementation of an in-house scalable suite of services focused on but not limited to: art collecting, art legacy, art historical education, due diligence processes, and risk management
- Support Family Office and Ultra High Net Worth clients with advice relating to art collections, especially around issues of generational planning, collection dispersal, sales strategies, art auctions, and philanthropic strategy related to collecting
- Partner with internal specialists on the Advanced Planning team (trust and estate attorneys) and the Family Advisory and Philanthropy team to provide holistic robust advice to clients and prospects related to their art collections
- Working with Financial Advisors, meet with existing and prospective clients on a consultative basis to assess their needs and offer solutions (in-house and/or external partners) in context of their overall wealth management relationship
- Help maintain and grow a network of 3rd party providers to supplement in-house services
- Act as a subject matter expert servicing Advisors and their existing and prospective clients
- Continually align offering with counterparts in EMEA, while maintaining specificity to the Americas market
- Execute on strategies to educate business partners and other colleagues on art advisory and solutions provided
- Support a specialized art focused community based on exclusive membership in partnership with colleagues in Switzerland
- In conjunction with the FOS Business Development team, develop and support related workshops for clients and Advisors/Field management, publish whitepapers and other materials
- Track progress of client meetings

- Los Angeles: the salary range for this role is $157000 to $205000

Your expertise
Requirements and Expertise:
- Proven experience and knowledge in the art market, art auctions, art history, art collection management (including logistics and valuation), and issues related to generational planning around art collecting
- Demonstrated 10 years+ relevant experience in the art market and advising UHNW clients
- Possess effective communication, influencing and presentation skills and ability to engage at all levels, building and maintaining relationships internally and externally
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage ambiguity
- Has the ability to travel within the region
- Understanding of finance industry and/or FINRA licenses 7, 66 (or 63 and 65) a plus
- Bachelor's or advanced degree
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Spanish or Mandarin speaking is a plus
