Job Title: Designer and Drafter
Job Description
The main function of this role will be turning shop drawings in Revit into 3D shop drawings and rendering training videos with 2D PDF format drawings. The candidate will be partnering directly with client architects and assisting them with design.
Responsibilities
- Develop standard product details and produce shop/installation drawings of metal panels in commercial, industrial, and architectural applications.
- Develop shop drawings as defined in the scope of work provided by customer submitted drawings and specs.
- Interpret information from internal order acknowledgment and customer-supplied structural and/or architectural plans.
- Draw floor plans, elevations, and details per drafting and product standards.
- Coordinate panel analysis with engineering personnel.
- Conduct quality checks on peer drawings and bill of materials.
- Review and update drawings to customer redline corrections as needed.
- Produce bill of material (BOM) list in company format from final approved set of drawings.
- Provide take-offs on every project to verify material that will need to be ordered by customer service.
- Interface with required internal and external project stakeholders.
- Develop standard details/manuals/prints for products.
- Assist sales staff and customer service with current and future projects.
- Assist architects and customers with new projects/project specific questions.
- Create submittals for new projects.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in the use of CAD and Revit.
- Technical capacity.

- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Experience with Revit and Twinmotion or Lumion.
- Experience in 3D/rendering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates Degree (or higher), Technical degree or appropriate level of related experience.
- Previous experience preferred in pre-engineered metal building and/or architectural design.
- Good communication and mathematical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
- Background in architecture or construction.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, BIM, mechanical engineering.
- Commercial experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
