Position Summary: We are seeking an Associate Art Director to lead and execute on-set photoshoots for our editorial campaigns. This person will report into the VP of Concept Visuals and work closely with the photography, content, styling, production and social media teams.
Salary $80-$95k
Primary Responsibilities:
- An innovative and conceptual creator, skilled at merging art with commerce
- Drive, own, and iterate on the brand visual identity and photo direction for multi-channel campaigns that touch all areas of the customer journey-including site experience, ecommerce, email marketing, digital advertising, video, social and more
- Conceptualize and execute pitches and prototypes to gain leadership alignment on creative and strategy
- Own and oversee work through lifecycle of project-concept, development, refinement, execution
- Lead and execute on-set art direction of our photography shoots
- Oversee multiple creative projects at the same time, for self and team
- Develop culturally relevant creative executions that meet our business and brand objectives and elicit emotional reaction from our customers
- Ensure our visual brand strategy and creative guidelines are interpreted in our daily photoshoots
- Collaborate and drive effective communication with onset photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists and digital technicians to create shoots that are both on brand and market leading
- Edit photoshoots with on-set teams to ensure lighting and tonal consistency
- Provide clearly notated PDF of shoot edits daily, complete with retouching notes for Digital Artists
- Work alongside our VP of Visuals to inspire, influence and evolve our imagery for both BR Specialty and Factory
- Participate in photography, lighting, styling and video direction conversations with team leads
- Collaborate with VP of Visuals to support on the creation of seasonal guidelines for on figure and lay-down product photography
- Daily quality control check-ins with VP of Visuals on all operating sets, when needed
- Assist on marketing style shoots and content when required
- Liaise with account, production, marketing, and site merch teams through lifecycle of projects
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in on-figure site photography, motion and studio creative direction
- An innovative and conceptual creator, skilled at merging art with commerce
- You have a compelling portfolio of distinctive work with elevated brand

- A deep knowledge of fashion, image making, and branding with a highly refined sensibility
- Experience concepting and directing video and moving image, digital storytelling
- Passion for pop culture, trends in social media, understanding of landscape and performance drivers
- Up-to-date knowledge of creative best practices for relevant digital formats
- Inspiring leader with the ability to both mentor and manage
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly and articulately explain your rationale and evoke excitement with your recommendations
- Strong organizational skills, keen eye for detail, and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience in directing photoshoot teams in an e-commerce environment
- Operates with an elevated taste level and all round passion for fashion and imagery
- Understanding of current industry related trends
- Goal oriented, with demonstrated success in managing through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and strategic-thinking skill
- Well versed in short-term and long-range planning and execution of a portfolio of projects
- Established skillet in relationship-building, presentation, and communication (written and verbal); Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a variety of people in various disciplines
