Job Description
As our Animation Director, you will shape and shepherd the animation vision and quality for the game – in line with the overall creative direction – from conception to final implementation.
What you'll do
- Be one of the key stakeholders ensuring the game feels good, looks good, and has an excellent sense of control and responsiveness
- Establish, communicate, and drive the animation direction across the entire project, in support of the overall creative/game direction
- Ensure the balance between gameplay excellence and animation visual quality
- Define animation team organization and pipelines, together with production team, and help ensure that scope and quality targets are met
- Collaborate with Snowdrop Engine team to help push animation tools and technology forward
We're offering a permanent position in Malmö or Stockholm, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply using English, our company's primary language.
Qualifications
What you'll bring
As a Director in the Animation field, you’re enthusiastic about quality and innovation. You excel at communicating your vision to various stakeholders and leading strategic efforts with your team. Your team leadership experience equips you to navigate through challenges, providing constructive feedback, and streamline workflows.
Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
- Experience in at least one full AAA videogame production, in a supervising role (Director, Lead)
- Expert knowledge and passion for gameplay & technical animation on AAA video game productions with a proven track record of shipped titles
- Professional experience in supervising/directing a team
- Capacity to clearly articulate and communicate a vision and strategy
- Extensive knowledge of animation software like Motion Builder, 3DS Max and Maya.
- An understanding of the technologies available to be used in animation like IK, FK, Motion Matching and Procedural, and the pros and cons of their use.
