Advanced Analytics Senior Analyst (Econometrician)
Role overview:
This is a critical and exciting role within GSBO Strategy at Sony Interactive Entertainment. As a data rich company, we are continuing to invest heavily within the analytics area and are now looking for a proactive result orientated statistical analyst within this exciting data driven team.
As part of this role, you will be working closely with the Advanced Analytics & Modelling team responsible for key global initiatives
• Marketing Effectiveness/Media Mix Modelling (MMM) – driving better decisions towards strategic media budgeting for our brand and sales
• Global Marketing critical metrics – supporting the business understanding of drivers and impact of key performance metrics & target setting
• Analytical work for key product verticals in GMSBO – driving greater efficiency, growth and better strategic decisions
What you'll be doing:
• Delivery of high quality statistical, analytical and modelling works that drive better strategic decisions
• Proactively identify gaps in analytics and uncover insights that are valuable to the business through various data insights and sources
• Ability to competently addressing questions about data, methodology, output with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Act as an ambassador to maintain and enhance reputation and profile within the business by building strong relationships with business leaders, collaborating with wider teams and positively contributing to our team
• Manage the data delivery/validation process with SIE data owners and external agency partner
• Support Project leads in leading the discussions at meetings and proactively contributing to ideas, being inquisitive and challenging yourself for greater quality works
What we are looking for:
Analytical -
• Expert user of data analysis/statistical applications e.g. SQL, R, Python is a must. Competent in using a range of tools including: Tableau, MicroStrategy & Qlik, DOMO or equivalent
• Breadth and depth of knowledge of econometric/media mix modelling (MMM), including experience building and testing data models, as well as in generating actionable insights is a must.
• Strong analytical knowledge and ability with extensive technical experience in statistical modelling techniques.
• Knowledge of marketing concepts and understanding of media capabilities/ ecosystem would be considered as an advantage
• Ability to assess large datasets from multiple sources, uncover actionable insights with relevant business context and application
Communication & Networking -
• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and influentially, both verbally and in writing inc. preparation of presentation materials to the highest standards with clear story/narrative
• Specifically, ability to communicate statistical analysis, model results and takeaways clearly & succinctly
• Ability to tailor the communication according to different audiences and cultures across the business and the globe.
• Build strong relationships with other data/analytics communities
Organisational -
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage and prioritise numerous time pressured analytical projects/work tasks simultaneously.
• When required, ability to work with Third Party relationships with sub-contractors, agencies or other collaborators, to ensure accurate, timely delivery, to a pre-agreed budget
Desirable -
• Interest and experience in the video gaming or digital entertainment industry
• Relevant Numerical Degree or equivalent experience
