The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for designing for facets of the Washington Capitals brand, including in-game entertainment, Monumental Sports Network, public relations, youth hockey, premium seating, and other initiatives. As part of Monumental Productions, this role partners with Capitals marketing, game presentation, and digital to create engaging designs championing the Capitals brand.

Responsibilities:
• Iterate designs from key art provided by vendors and the internal design team.
• Design for targeted sales campaigns that help expand the Capitals brand while aligning with campaign guidelines.
• Build compelling presentations and decks to communicate the Capitals brand story.
• Design for retail (merchandise, signage) and for large formats (banners, signage).
• Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across creative.
• Communicate effectively with internal collaborators and clients while incorporating feedback.
• Stay up-to-date/maintain awareness of design trends.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 2-4 years professional design experience.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Teams.
• Detail oriented in a short-deadline environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Provide a portfolio demonstrating skills in: strong sense of typography, layout design, presentation design, information hierarchy, photo manipulation, ability to create logos for sub brands and initiatives, social media design, and retail and large format design.
• Motion design knowledge is preferred.
• Illustration or fine arts' background is a plus.
• Copywriting headline experience preferred.
Pay Range: $65-75k USD.
