The Role
Netflix is seeking a Creative Assistant to provide support for our IP Scouting Team in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is able to exercise good judgment and significant initiative.
Specific Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Reading and reviewing a high volume of IP (books, comics, audio content, etc.,) in a timely manner, comprehensively evaluating its adaptation potential, and sharing such evaluation in writing and verbally
- Capturing, drafting and editing coverage and reports on IP including but not limited to books, articles, comics, graphic novels, manga, video games and audio content such as podcasts or audio plays
- Maintaining calendars for 2 executives including booking and confirming meetings, meals and calls, internally & externally
- Formatting internal memos and both internal and external submission emails
- Managing and organizing the flow of incoming and outgoing material/submissions
- Maintain internal systems to track projects and their statuses
- Taking notes in meetings and circulating information to the greater team
- Coordinate travel arrangements (domestic and international) and other administrative duties (i.e. processing travel and expense reports, digital and physical filing, etc...)
- An ability to research older IP material and/or
- An ability to research and read non-English language material
- Heavy communication internally and externally
- The ability to assist with team projects and events as needed
- Create decks for presentations, both internally and externally
Qualifications
- Previous entertainment or publishing industry experience preferred
- Team player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting
- Ability to multitask in a high volume position
- Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
- Strong writing and reading comprehension skills and the ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Google Slides and Excel
- Prior experience reading books and providing coverage preferred
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $235,000.
