Position Summary: Reporting to the SVP, Apparel Design, this candidate will be responsible for developing graphics concepts, graphics, print and layouts across all categories such as RTW, Mens, Knits, Denim, and assisting with graphics for accessories as needed. This role requires a candidate that is able to identify business opportunities through a creative and brand appropriate lens. This candidate will liaise with design, product development, the fabrics team, tech and production to ensure a cohesive and structured process from concept to customer.
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under the direction of the SVP, Apparel Design, this candidate will research and concept creative graphic, print, and branding ideas in accordance with seasonal line plans; development should include graphic/ print mockups and visual presentation of all unique graphic ideas.
- Together with each of the category’s design lead, the candidate will research and propose print techniques and applications.
- Build and propose color stories from the seasonal color palette within each print and graphic concept; to be presented with pantones or color standards.
- Present focused print and graphic stories to the category design leads and make changes where necessary.
- Partner with design leads to prepare for all graphic and print presentations to SVP, Apparel Design and Creative Director.
- Partner with the fabric team to match all pantones and color standards for proposed prints and graphics.
- Prepare tech sheets for all approved prints and graphics; ensuring all scale information, color allocation, repeat layout and pantone/ color standards and techniques are present.
- Under the direction of the SVP, Apparel Design, liaise with PD and tech to ensure all graphic and print placement information is clear.
- Assist the design leads on all sketch updates and print or graphic CADS
- Manage and ensure accuracy of all cross functional information input into the system to reflect design changes or updates.
- Together with the design leads, organize and prepare for all design meetings and follow through on updating all design collateral as needed when changes occur.
- Oversee and check design boards consistently to ensure they are always updated.
- Participate and prepare for weekly design ops meetings; ensuring that all team members have up to date information on all developments.
- Take responsibility for checking all updates and communications made during all pre-fitting of prototypes and ensure any graphic, print or technique issues are called out.
- Prepare for all proto review meetings; making sure that all garments have been assessed and considered. If necessary prepare solutions or supplemental ideas/ concepts that are in accordance with the seasonal line plan.
- Check all SMS upon arrival and make any necessary adjustments.
- Prepare for all styling meetings; making sure that all SMS are present and organized in order of the line sheet. Prepare any supplemental design materials needed for style out.
- Participate in styling and fittings as needed of collections for show and/or look book.
- Participate in BOM reviews as needed with an ability to make solution oriented decisions on trim, counter sourcing and sales call outs.
- Participate and lead all SMS through TOP sample fittings. Ensure design integrity and all fit comments are considered and communicated efficiently. Liaise with tech, PD and production to maintain aesthetic and production viability through to the customer.
- Analyze, leverage and integrate sales and bookings data to inform ongoing and future designs.
- Work on additional projects as requested by SVP, Apparel Design and Creative Director.
Knowledge and Background Requirements:
- BA or BFA in Graphic Design
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in Graphic designer capacity
- Experience with fashion luxury brand
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Forward thinker, solutions-oriented
- Excellent photoshop, illustrator skills
- 3D software knowledge is a plus i.e. gravity sketch or Rhino
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Strong color and print sense
- Excellent understanding of garment and fabric wash techniques and applications for cut & sew and/or other materials
- Excellent understanding of graphic design processes and print techniques
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead, delegate and manage a team
- Ability to communicate and present design ideas and concepts clearly
- Enthusiasm to bring new energy into design process

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary range for this position is $90,000 - 100,000/year, which represents a rate commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
